Funding

As a Charitable run Pre-school Caterpillars offers fully funded places for all children over the age of 2.

The further expansion of funded childcare from September 2025 means all children of working parents over the age of 2 could now be eligible for up to 30 hours funding a week.

Children under 3 but over the age of 2 can still be entitled to funding depending on parental circumstances.

The Government’s Childcare Choices website provides lots of help to enable you as parents or carers to work what you might be entitled to.

Approval for all types of funding has to be complete by the following deadlines ;

To claim funding in the Autumn term – 31st August

To claim funding in the Spring term – 31st December

To claim funding in the Summer term – 31st March

If approval is not obtained in time, we will not be able to claim certain types of funding for the whole of the term which could mean all your child’s hours with us would be chargeable at the rate of £8.50 per hour (effective from September 2025)
